Role of Union Council

Union Council is the highest student body that enables you to make change.

Students at Imperial are automatically full members of the Union, and can therefore attend Union Council meetings.

At Coincil meetings you can raise issues, engage in discussions, scrutinise and pass policies, and hold senior officers to account.

Union Council can:

  • Represent the voice of students.
  • Set the policy of the Union and update policies where appropriate.
  • Shape the direction and work of the Union through reports and discussion items.
  • Create and change the Bye-Laws of the Union (changes must be approved by the Board of Trustees and Imperial College London Council)

See Council Meetings to learn how to join.
